Staylio provides multiple payment modes that allow property managers to control when guests can save a payment method and when they can make payments toward their reservation.
These features are available to subscribers using Stripe as their payment gateway in Lodgix.
Configuring a Payment Mode
Payment settings can be configured from the Staylio app settings within Lodgix. Select one of the following payment modes:
Payment Mode
Card Collection Mode
Card Collection Then Payment Mode
Each mode changes how the Payments page behaves for guests.
Payment Mode
Payment Mode allows guests to make payments directly toward their reservation balance.
When this mode is enabled, guests can:
Enter their credit card information.
Make custom payments toward their invoice.
Custom payment amounts must:
Be greater than $0.00.
Not exceed the remaining balance on the reservation.
Use this mode if you want guests to pay all or part of their balance through the Staylio app.
Card Collection Mode
Card Collection Mode allows guests to securely save a credit card on file without making a payment.
The payment method is securely stored in Stripe and is available in the Billing tab of the Lodgix Control Panel, where it can be used according to your payment policies.
Allow Guests to Update Their Saved Card
An optional setting, Allow guests to update their saved card on file, controls whether guests can replace their saved payment method.
Enabled: Guests can update the card they have on file from within the Staylio app.
Disabled (default): Guests cannot update their saved card after it has been collected.
Use this mode when you want to collect payment information in advance but do not want guests making payments through the app.
Card Collection Then Payment Mode
Card Collection Then Payment Mode combines card collection with guest payments.
When enabled:
Guests can immediately save a credit card on file after accessing Staylio.
The card is securely stored.
Payment Mode automatically becomes available the configured number of days before the guest's arrival.
Guests can then make partial or full payments toward their reservation balance.
This mode is ideal when you want to collect payment information early while allowing guests to make payments closer to their arrival date.

Supported Payment Methods
Staylio supports all payment methods that are supported by Stripe and enabled in your Lodgix Stripe payment gateway configuration.
For example, if you have enabled payment methods such as credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, or other Stripe-supported payment methods in your Stripe payment gateway settings, those payment options will automatically be available to guests in Staylio where applicable.
No additional configuration is required within Staylio beyond enabling the desired payment methods in your Stripe payment gateway.
