Age Verification in the Lodgix Admin App

Why the app may ask to confirm your age, and how to fix it if you're locked out

Written by Bobby Wiles

Starting in 2026, U.S. state laws — beginning with the Texas App Store Accountability Act — require mobile apps to verify a user's age category using information provided by the Apple App Store and Google Play. The Lodgix Admin app is a professional property-management tool intended for adults, so the app is rated 18+ and now confirms with your device's app store that your account is not registered to a minor.

Most users will never notice this. The check happens automatically in the background when the app starts. You'll only see something if your device reports an age under 18 or can't share an age range at all.

If you see one of these messages

"This app is for adults only"

Your device reported an age under 18, so the app is locked. Lodgix Admin is restricted to users 18 and older. If you are an adult and see this screen, the birth date on your device's app store account is probably incorrect — see the fix steps below.

"Verify your age to continue"

Your device didn't share an age range with the app, so the app is locked until it can confirm your age category. Follow the steps below to share your age range, then tap Re-check.

How to fix it on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap your name at the top (your Apple Account), then **Personal Information**.

  3. Tap Age Range for Apps and make sure sharing is turned on — and that your date of birth is correct.

  4. Return to the Lodgix Admin app and tap Re-check.

If you were asked to share your age range when the app first launched and declined, these same steps let you turn sharing back on.

How to fix it on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Settings, and follow any prompts to resolve your age status.

  2. Make sure the birthday on your Google Account is correct: go to Google Account → Personal info → Birthday.

  3. If the Google account is supervised, a parent or guardian must approve access using the Family Link app.

  4. Return to the Lodgix Admin app and tap Re-check.

Your privacy

  • Lodgix never sees or stores your birth date. The app store shares only a broad age category (for example, "18 or older").

  • The app keeps only the allow/deny decision, never the age range itself, and re-checks fresh each time the app starts. Nothing about your age is saved to your device or sent to Lodgix servers.

  • If access is denied, the app records an anonymous event so we can monitor that the system is working — it is never linked to you or your account.

Frequently asked questions

I'm an adult — why am I locked out?

The birth date on your Apple or Google account is most likely wrong (this is common with accounts created years ago or set up by someone else). Correct it using the steps above, then tap Re-check — no need to reinstall or restart.

I'm not in Texas. Does this affect me?

Usually not. If your device's app store doesn't apply age-verification rules in your region, the app opens normally without asking anything.

Does everyone on my team need to do something?

No. Team members only need to act if they see one of the locked screens above.

I followed the steps and it still doesn't work.

Age changes can take a few minutes to sync from Apple or Google. Wait a moment, fully close and reopen the app, and tap Re-check. If you're still locked out, contact Lodgix support through our website chat or support@lodgix.com and we'll help you sort it out.

Why does Lodgix have to do this?

State laws such as the Texas App Store Accountability Act (effective January 1, 2026) require app developers to use the age category provided by the app store and restrict access accordingly. Because Lodgix Admin is a business tool for adults, our obligation is simply to keep the app limited to users 18 and older.
