Age Verification (U.S. Compliance Update – 2026)
Starting in 2026, certain U.S. state laws require mobile apps to request and use age-category signals provided by Apple App Store and Google Play.
The Lodgix Admin app now performs this check at launch to receive an age category when available. However, the app is rated for users of all ages and does not restrict access based on age verification status.
What this means
Age verification is requested when available from the app store
If the user declines or the information is unavailable, the app still continues normally
No app features are blocked based solely on age verification status
Most users will never notice this. The check happens automatically in the background when the app starts.
What you may see
“Verify your age”
This means the app store did not provide an age category or the user declined sharing it. You can choose to:
Continue into the app without verifying
Allow the app store to share your age category
Either option will still allow full access to the Lodgix Admin app.
How to update your age information (optional)
On iPhone or iPad
Open the Settings app
Tap your name (Apple Account)
Go to Personal Information
Tap Age Range for Apps and ensure sharing is enabled (and your date of birth is correct if needed)
Reopen the Lodgix Admin app if you updated settings
On Android
Open the Google Play Store
Tap your profile icon → Settings
Check any prompts related to age verification or account status
Verify your birthday under Google Account → Personal info → Birthday
If using Family Link, a parent/guardian may need to approve updates
Restart the Lodgix Admin app if needed
Your privacy
Lodgix does not receive or store your date of birth from the App Store. We only receive a broad age category signal when provided by Apple or Google (for example, “under 18” or “18 or older”).
Frequently asked questions
I'm an adult — do I need to do anything?
No. Most users don’t need to take any action. If your app store account provides a valid age category, everything works automatically.
I chose not to share my age. Will I lose access?
No. The app will still function normally even if you decline age sharing.
I'm not in Texas. Does this affect me?
Usually not. If your region does not enforce app-store age signals, the app will simply continue without showing any prompts.
I updated my settings but nothing changed.
Age updates from Apple or Google may take a few minutes to sync. Fully close and reopen the app if needed.
Why does Lodgix request this at all?
Some U.S. state laws require apps to request and use age-category signals provided by app stores. Lodgix performs this check for compliance purposes, but since the Lodgix Admin app is not age-restricted, access is not conditioned on it.
