Upload and scan guest ID's for HOA compliance and guest screening

Vacation rental regulation and fraud are on the rise. There are many scenarios where requiring guest verification makes sense:

  1. HOA Mandate. Many municipalities and home owner associations now require that all (or at least one) guest(s) upload a valid, government issued, photo ID.

  2. Reduce Fraud. A legitimate guest should have no problem uploading a valid, government issued, photo ID. All IDs are matched against a guest provided "selfie". Any guest refusing to provide a photo ID or who fails the ID verification is probably a guest who requires additional screening.

  3. Piece of Mind. Many vacation rental properties today are high dollar investments. Give your owners the peace of mind to know that all guests are screened and verified.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We utilize a third party API to upload, scan, extract and verify all guest data. Each verification, whether successful or not, costs $1.00.

For example, if a guest uploads a blurry photo ID and the image is rejected, and then proceeds to upload an image that is not blurry and is verified, that guest verification would cost $2.00.

Billing occurs automatically, and will process at the same time as your monthly subscription. A detailed breakdown of all billing activity will be provided within your Lodgix billing profile each month.

HOW TO VERIFY A GUEST

A guest can be prompted to enter a Photo ID in three different ways:

  1. AFTER a successful online booking from your website.

  2. AUTOMATICALLY by setting up a trigger to scan all reservations to assure each has a valid guest ID associated with it.

  3. MANUALLY by requesting a guest verification, just as you would request a payment or request a digital signature.

GUEST VERIFICATION REPORTING

Just as we do for digital signatures, we utilize a series of icons and reports to make it super easy to identify if a booking has a guest ID associated with it.

HOW DO I ENABLE GUEST VERIFICATIONS?

Simply, go to Settings > Guest Verify

Enable the functionality:

and agree to the Terms of Service:

That's it! Once complete, you are ready to start allowing guests to upload photo IDS to be scanned, stored and available for retrieval with every reservation.

Please return to the Guest Verification Documentation to learn more details about setting up all aspects of the functionality.
